This is a new blog that I've thought about for a majority of the year and have finally started it.
My dream for this blog is be a source for accommodations, goals, IEP data keeping, and specialized instruction (that thing sped teacher are required to do, but many just scratch their head when it's mentioned).
Accommodations:
I will list accommodations I have seen/used/written on IEPs and how to incorporate them into the school day.
Goals:
When I've found or developed a really good goal I will post it, take it apart looking at all the components, and reviewing the best way to collect data on it.
IEP Data Collection:
This may vary from teacher to teacher or even student to student. There are new ways to collect data. One is using google drive and an app to turn work samples into PDF files or using Excel to create a yes or no checklist. But whatever you use or do, don't make up data. You should be collecting it if not daily then at least weekly.
Specialized Instruction:
I'm still developing a short summary for this. What it is NOT: standing in the back of a general education classroom and watching.
